Context-Aware Analysis
Why Context Matters
Words are shape-shifters. The same word can mean completely different things depending on where it appears. Traditional dictionaries list all possible definitions and leave you to figure out which one applies.
This works fine for simple words. But for words with multiple meanings, technical jargon, or domain-specific usage, you end up scanning through numbered definitions trying to match one to what you're reading.
Aletheia eliminates this guesswork. By analyzing the text surrounding your selection, it delivers the meaning that actually fits your context.
How Aletheia Works
When you select a word or phrase, Aletheia captures three things:
- Your selection - the word or phrase you highlighted
- Surrounding text - the paragraph and nearby sentences
- Page context - metadata about what you're reading
This context bundle is sent to an AI model that understands language the way humans do: in context. Instead of pattern-matching to a static database, it reasons about what the word means here, in this sentence, on this page.
The result is an explanation tailored to your reading, not a generic dictionary entry.

Coming Soon: Explore Deeper Meaning
Sometimes words carry layers of meaning beyond the literal. When you read about "ascension" in an article about elderly care, there's a poetic resonance with religious and architectural imagery that enriches the text. Our upcoming Explore Deeper Meaning feature will detect these layered meanings and let you explore them with a single click.
